How to Tell if Your Name's not Linus
From: Jack Repenning
Abstract: Subversion's popularity continues to grow spectacularly; server counts continue to grow nearly exponentially. And yet Linus Torvalds has famously remarked that "I see Subversion as being the most pointless project ever started" -- and Linus is a smart guy, and his git system is also wildly and increasingly popular. The two systems could hardly be more different, in architecture, in work flow, or in the cultures that love them. How can this be? And if you're making a choice, how can you know which one is right for you?
Slides
The slides depend on some animation that, in places, seems to be a bit more than PowerPoint can handle, so there's also a QuickTime movie format provided.
